Believe it or not, Ariel has found a way to make the Atom 3 seem outdated. Powered by a 2.4-liter Honda l4 engine, the Atom 3 boasts a 0-60 mph time of just 2.9 seconds which is pretty awesome indeed. But when you compare that to 700 horsepower, you know the new model is going to be much more than you’ve expected.
Dubbed the Ariel Atom 700, and manufactured by DDMWorks, the supercar is powered by a 2.0-liter Ecotec l4 engine capable of 450 hp, 575 hp, and even 700 hp for adrenaline rush seekers. These staggering figures can be reached with help from a supercharger and a turbocharger.
Weighing only 1,450 lbs, the car has a power-to-weight ratio of 2.07 lbs/hp, according to DDMWorks. It also has a custom exhaust system and other mechanical improvements that make it even more irresistible. There’s no official statement about the car’s price, but you can expect it to be higher than the Atom 3, which costs some $52,500.
