The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch “Apollo 15” 40th Anniversary

The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo 15 (3)

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Apollo 15’s mission to the moon, Omega created a limited edition Speedmaster Moonwatch. Apollo 15 landed on the moon on July 30, 1971, so the number of watches in the limited edition is, as expected, 1,971.

With a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet and case, each classic Moonwatch comes with its serial number and the words “The First Watch Worn on the Moon, July 30, 1971” etched on its back. The bezel has a black aluminum ring and a tachymeter scale and the hesalite crystal is shatterproof. The black dial holds three subdials, each one showing one of the Apollo 15 colors: red, blue and white. Inside the case there is the famous Omega 1861 manually-wound movement with a power reserve of 48 hours.

On the back of the case the image of the Lunar Rover is embossed, together with the words “40th Anniversary” and Apollo 15”. The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch “Apollo 15” 40th Anniversary will cost approximately $7,000.
