This Meridiist luxury mobile phone is a special edition created by TAG Heuer and Golf Oil. It is a 155-grams phone featuring stainless steel, PVD coating and two displays: a small OLED one showing the time at the top, and a large sapphire glass display of 4.8 cm (1.88 inch) with 240×320 pixels. The Tag Heuer Meridiist Gulf Phone has got a 2 megapixel camera, 2 gigabyte memory, and a look inspired by Michael Delaney, the famous racer.
Michael Delaney was interpreted by Steve McQueen in the film “Le Mans”, in 1971. In the movie he raced for the Gulf Team (recognizable by its characteristic blue and orange stripes) and he also wore a Heuer Monaco Chronograph on the wrist. This is where the Tag Heuer Meridiist Gulf Phone idea started from, and only 400 copies will be made.
