While most action camera manufacturers are focusing on making their products smaller and more affordable, Leica has decided to take on a different approach. The company’s new Leica X-U camera is expected to cost $3,000, which makes it the most expensive product of its kind in the world. For that kind of money, you’ll get a highly reliable product that’s able to cope with harsh winter temperatures or survive a fall of up to 3.9 feet.
The X-U is also completely waterproof, which means that it can capture breathtaking underwater images as long as you don’t take it deeper than 49 feet. Apart from the aforementioned features, the X-U looks and performs just like a regular Leica T camera. Even though it doesn’t feature a viewfinder, it comes with a 3-inch LCD screen, a 23mm lens with an f/1.7 aperture, and a 16.5MP APS-C censor.
