The Glorious Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris Hotel

The Glorious Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris Hotel (1)

After a two-year renovation, the Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris hotel has become a glorious retreat for the rich and stylish. It’s like a private members club, with lots of unique features and design touches. Responsible for the new look is designer Philippe Starck, who chose a very 1930s style for all the hotel’s public spaces. The rooms received a more ’40s and ’50s look, inspired by André Malraux, a French statesman, award winning author and adventurer who loved to gather different objects that moved him in some way.

For this reason, all the 149 rooms in Royal Monceau flaunt an eclectic display of items like a pearl necklace on the night stand, love letters in a drawer, an acoustic guitar, large photographs propped against the walls and more. All these create a very personal ambiance and makes every guest feel like staying in a fried’s home rather than in an impersonal hotel room.

Some of the rooms’ unique amenities are the walk-in wardrobes that look like haute couture fitting rooms, the bathrooms with floor-to-ceiling mirrors on each wall, the hidden flat-screen TVs, the antique dressers and the Louis XV-style cabinets.

Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s Clarins Spa, the state-of-the-art cinema, the Art District art gallery, the library (filled with art books) and the five luxe restaurants and bars. And as if all this was not already perfect, Le Royal Monceau also has an ideal location: it’s only a five minutes’ walk from both Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe.
