A beautiful collection of motor cars, automobilia and motorcycles will allure collectors from around the world. Among the rare and original racing and road cars at Bonhams’ Power by BMW sale, the 1937 Frazer-Nash BMW 328 Roadster from the ex Gilbert Gillie Tyrer private collection, really stands out.
Produced in a limited number, only 426 were made between 1936 and 1939, and they were considered competitive sports cars even years after the war. Today we can find fewer than 200 such models. The car has a 2.0 liter, 6 cylinder engine with an over-head valve and a capacity of 80 BHP, the chassis has a tubular design, hydraulic breaks and transverse leaf front wheel suspension.
The 328 Roadster has met multiple owners such as: H. Merryweather, Nigel Stoyel, TW Meikle, Perthshire County Council, Anthony Harper, CG Buisk and Gilbert Tyrer. The car also needed some new components and repair work to be as good as new. The car is estimated to sell for $800,000.
