Due to be launched soon at the upcoming SIHH 2013, this exquisite timepiece is a true work of art made of yellow gold and embellished with 3.63 carats of brilliant cut diamonds, plus one single beautiful gem in the crown.
The 18-carat gold case is 42 millimeters in diameter and holds a mechanical manually-wound movement caliber 9601 MC. The most remarkable feature of this watch is obviously the intricate granulation on the dial, hence its name: Rotende de Cartier 42 mm Panther with Granulation.
Like all Cartier creations, this one too is a gorgeous piece of jewelry, on which professional artisans have worked painstakingly long hours with minute attention to detail. Using ancient goldsmithing techniques, they have decorated the dial with a huge number of tiny golden granules (22-carat yellow gold). Each bead was carefully put in place by hand, making up a superb image of a Panther – the brand’s iconic symbol for 165 years. Only 20 units will ever be manufactured.
