The timepiece that we’re about to focus on was given to a series of brave soldiers that volunteered to travel to the Pacific War Combat Zone back in 1945. Dubbed Startimer Pilot 201st Squadron Limited Edition, the watch was presented to the surviving volunteers as part of a ceremony led by Captain Manuel Reyna Garza of the 1st FAAMA Group.

The piece represents a fitting tribute a very important moment in Mexico’s war effort, which is why it boasts a special plaque that shows an eagle holding the tricolor triangle of the Mexican Expeditionary Air Force. The back of the watch displays a representation of the P-47 aircraft, which was used extensively during the conflict.

The case is made out of stainless steel black PVD, it measures 44mm and has an AR-coated sapphire crystal that protects its dial from the elements. As far as the movement is concerned, we’re talking about a Swiss quartz Alpina caliber AL-372 that has complications such as a big date and a chronograph. Accompanied by a commemorative certificate, the timepiece comes in a special gift-box and is complemented by a black Kevlar strap with a steel black PVD buckle.
