At this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kia Motors unveiled a very spectacular concept created in collaboration with LUX Motorwerks. The concept is based on a Sorento SUV, and it was dubbed Ski Gondola, which is a fitting name, as you’re about to find out. Blending the qualities of a sport utility vehicle and a mountain-scaling cable car, the car’s wheels were replaced by Dominator Rubber Tracks that can run on the most unwelcoming winter terrain.
The vehicle also boasts a custom roof rack, which can be used to store snowboards, skis or other winter sports equipment. On the inside, the front-facing driver and passenger seats face backwards, and that’s because the concept was designed for autonomous driving. The B pillar that usually separates the front and back of the cabin has been removed in order to make room for suicide-style rear doors, which makes the car look even more like an actual ski gondola.
