Sir Elton John’s 1987 Ferrari Testarossa Is Now for Sale

When Sir Elton John turned 40, he didn’t get the regular birthday card and homemade cake, he got a brand new 1987 Ferrari Testarossa with Rosso Corsa paintjob. It was a gift from MCA records. The car is still in excellent condition, as it covered less than 20,000 km (12,427 mi) in its whole existence. It still has all the documentations and service records signed by the artist himself, plus its original tool kit.

Powered by a 4.9-liter flat 12 engine with 390 hp and 361 lb-ft of torque, the car can go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 180 mph. Probably its most remarkable characteristic is the door louvers that guide air towards the radiators. This is a feature that can still be seen in many mid-mount sport car designs today.

Any other car like this would normally cost between $50,000 and $75,000, but since this one has a really special ownership history, it is currently for sale at $196,000.
