Shanghai Hosts the Renault Alpine A110-50 Concept

Hello, Renault Alpine A110-50 Concept, and welcome to our world! The stunning car was unveiled at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Showand it pays homage to a very special car of the past, the A110 model which was a race circuit beast during the 1970s. It was first released in 1961, and this futuristic concept was developed to mark the original car’s 50th anniversary.

If you are a true automotive aficionado, you probably remember Renault talking about it last year as well, but it is only now that the automaker revealed the concept in person. We know not if there are any plans to one day send the car into production, but we’re sure many would find the idea very appealing.

Even though it keeps its distinct Alpine Blue color, the concept brings forth a long list of modern-day features, such as an exquisite carbon fiber body, impressive scissor-doors, half-ring yellow LED lights instead of the original hood-mounted fog lights, and an overall curvaceous and fluid design. The source of power for this stunner is a mid-mounted 3.5-liter V6 that can put out 400 HP. Sending all this muscle to the wheels is a six-speed, dual-clutch transmission.
