What you’re looking at here is a 20 karat diamond ring that used to belong to Leslie Scrushy, the wife of former HealthSouth CEO, Richard Scrushy. The man was found guilty of an accounting fraud and the court ordered him to pay $3.2 billion.
To raise all this money he had to sell many of his precious belongings like cars, yachts and this beautiful $752,500 ring of his wife. All the jewels that they gave up gathered about $1.5 million. They were sold at a Sotheby’s auction this month and all the money will go to the defrauded HealthSouth shareholders.
