Rolls Royce Recalls 2010 Ghosts over Water Pump Problems

Luxurious as they may be, Rolls Royces are not infallible. Apparently the automaker needs to recall all the 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghosts that were manufactured between September 2009 and September 2010, because of a problem with an electric auxiliary water pump which can overhear and cause a fire.

A few days ago BMW and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a recall for the same reason. The problem only affects the cars that are powered by BMW’s turbocharged 8- and 12-cylinder engines. Since the Ghost features a modified version of the twin-turbo V12 engine found in the BMW 760Li, the pump problem is also present in the car.

If you take (or send) your car to a Rolls-Royce dealership, you will receive a new water pump free of charge. The luxury automaker will notify all 2010 Ghost owners of the problem.
