Rihanna’s Beverly Hills Estate Subject to a Short Sale

Only two years after having bought this impressive luxury estate in Beverly Hills, Rihanna is looking for someone to buy the mansion from her. When she purchased it in 2009, the music star paid $6.9 million for the eight-bedroom mansion, but now she has to sell it for $2.6 million less. The reason? The house has suffered from extensive water intrusion through the roof, balconies, doors and windows, which resulted in extensive damage.
Built on more than three quarters of an acre, the three-story contemporary residence flaunts 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, three fireplaces, a media room, a breakfast area, a den, a swimming pool and more.
Rihanna believes that the former owner of the house, Heather Rudomin, and other parties were aware of the defects of the mansion when they sold it to her, so she decided to sue them. She said that a moderate rainstorm in January 2010 proved to be more than the house could handle, and it became waterlogged. The luxury estate “is being sold strictly AS-IS and will be subject to a short-sale”, as its current listing says.
