Record Price for a Record Breaking Bentley: $7 Million

A couple of days ago, Bonhams had the honor of selling the new most expensive Bentley at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, England. We are talking about the same racing stunner that entered the record books eight decades ago, when Sir Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin drove it on the Brooklands race circuit, reaching a staggering 137.96 mph (219.93 km/h).

Known as the Blower, this 4 ½ -liter supercharged single-seat racer fetched a whopping £4.5 million (approx. $7 million) at auction! The previous record price for a Bentley sold at auction was £2.8 million, and it was paid for the Speed Six known as the ‘Old No. 2’ in 2004.
