Rock Island Auction Company will sell some pretty impressive stuff at their Premiere Collector’s Firearms Auction, which will take place between May 20-22, 2011. Among the over 2,700 lots presented at the auction, there will be several collectible and antique firearms from Winchester, Holland & Holland, Colt and more.
The star of the event will be a Colt 2nd Model Dragoon Revolver, expected to fetch between $150,000 and $225,000. Approximately 2,700 such guns were created between 1850 and 1851 and they are a rare and beautiful sight today.
Two other special items at the auction will be the gold plated Luger pistol from Krieghoff Heinrich Gun Co. and a Winchester Model 1886 50 Express Smoothbore Lever Action Rifle. The first still flaunts more than 90 percent of its original gold finish and is estimated to raise between $50,000 and $100,000. The latter will be sold for approximately $90,000-$130,000 and will come with a letter from the Winchester Arms Museum.
Each firearm at the auction is special in its own way and connoisseurs will definitely appreciate their value. Take a look at some of them in the photos below.
