Pinewood Shepperton Film Studios Bought for £96 Million

Pinewood Shepperton Film Studios Bought for £96 Million (1)

John Whittaker , chairman of Peel Group, shelled out £96 million (approx. $160 million) for Pinewood Shepperton film studios. The studio is 75 years old and has been used for some very successful movies like Harry Potter, James Bond, the Pirates of the Caribbean and Batman. After making his offer £8 million more appealing than that of Mohamed al Fayed (former owner of Harrods luxury department store), Whittaker won the biding contest.

Whittaker intends to invest £20 million in Pinewood Shepperton and make it worthy of Hollywood’s admiration. We’re curious to see what new movies will be made on the studio under the new management.
