Piaget Altiplano Skeleton for Only Watch

Created as part of Piaget’s Altiplano collection, this spectacular timepiece is one of the exclusive watches that will be sold at the annual Only Watch Auction dedicated to raising money for the fight against Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

It is called Piaget Altiplano Skeleton and it is a one-off piece that is going to impress with its dimensions and openworked design. The case is white gold with black PVD coating, which is a first for this model. It measures 38 mm in diameter and only 5.34 mm in thickness. For an incredibly thin watch like this, the movement had to be surprisingly thin as well, and at 2.4 mm, it definitely is! Caliber 1200S is the world’s thinnest automatic skeletonized movement.

Over the spectacular openworked dial, the black hands feature a dauphine-style design. You will also notice the dark platinum oscillating weight, the plate and bridges with sunburst finish and the black screws of the bridges. The caseback too is quite remarkable and features the “Only Watch 2013 – unique piece” engraving. Considering the price of a standard white gold Altiplano ($60,000), this special piece is bound to raise a lot of cash for the Only Watch cause.
