Peugeot 508 RXH Unveiled Before the Frankfurt Motor Show (5)

Peugeot has unveiled the new generation 508 RXH. The car will have its official debut in September, at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, but the French automaker felt generous enough to show their creation to the world even before the German automotive event.
So here’s what the press release shows. A through-the-road hybrid vehicle (which starts as a normal two-wheel drive car and has an electric drive on the other two wheels) with a diesel-electric drive that generates a combined 200 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. The diesel engine has a 2.0-liter displacement, while the electric one is a 28-kilowatt (38 hp) electric motor.
Peugeot’s 3008 HYbrid4 technology helps this vehicle achieve a fuel efficiency of less than 4.2 liters per 100 km (56 mpg) and a CO2 emissions rate of just 109 g/km. The 508 RXH is expected to hit the market in spring 2012 and the automaker announced its intention of extending the Hybrid4 technology to other models as well.Peugeot 508 RXH Unveiled Before the Frankfurt Motor Show (4)
