Outstanding New Apple Headquarters to Be Built in California

Apple is planning on building an impressive new headquarters campus in Cupertino, California. This will be a clean-energy hi-tech complex in the shape of a spaceship. Circular and boasting huge panes of glass, the building will provide lots of natural light to the company’s employees, thus reducing the need for artificial lighting.

The four-story building will be made by Norman Foster and Partners, a renowned architectural firm from London. The firm is famous for some really amazing architecture projects like London’s “pickle” building and many more. Only 20 percent of the property will be occupied by the building and it’s parking area, while the rest will be covered by apricot orchards and beautifully landscaped areas.

The main power source of the new Apple headquarters will be natural gas and you can expect to see it finished by 2015. It will be able to house up to 12,000 employees, which is almost five times more than the current building’s capacity of just 2,600.

Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, recently presented this bold project at California’s city council meeting on Tuesday and  the council members declared themselves really impressed with Apple’s plan. Councilman Orrin Mahoney even said “Now that we have seen your plans, the word spectacular would be an understatement”. Check out the video below to see more.
