Omega Seamaster Watch Marks Goldfinger’s 50-Year Anniversary

The connection between Omega and the fictional special agent named James Bond started to take root in 1995 with the launch of the GoldenEye movie starring Pierce Brosnan. Strengthening the link even more, the famed Swiss watchmaker sometimes creates special editions of the Seamaster timepiece in order to mark the anniversaries of the amazing James Bond films.

Goldfinger is a James Bond movie that came out 5 decades ago, and so Omega has released a special edition Seamaster called Aqua Terra Goldfinger 50 Year Anniversary Edition Watch. As you probably suspect, the watch comes with an 18-carat yellow gold case, while its dial is made out of the same material. The gold hands and hour makers received a Super Luminescent treatment for improved visibility, while the seconds hand was adorned with a 007 logo counterweight.

The piece is powered by an automatic in-house Co-Axial caliber 8501 that flaunts an 18-carat yellow gold bridge and rotor. For extra exclusivity, this special Seamaster flaunts an engraving on its caseback that says “GOLDFINGER, 50TH ANNIVERSARY, UNIQUE PIECE, ANTI-MAGNETIC, > 15,000 GAUSS”, the last part referencing the watch’s resistance to magnetic fields. The unique piece was put under the hammer for charity and was taken home by a very fortunate James Bond fan.
