Olivia Wilde Unveils The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Star

The 2011 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will sparkle with thousands of dazzling crystals, of which approximately 25,000 will be part of a huge Christmas tree star by Swarovski.

Actress Olivia Wilde was invited to help unveil the impressive ornament. At the event, she wore a lovely shimmery dress and precious jewels from Swarovski’s 2011 fall/winter collection. Wayne Page, the Vice President of Operations for Swarovski North America Limited’s Consumer Goods Business, was very happy with how the actress represented the company, saying that: “Her elegance and style align perfectly with Swarovski’s vision”.

This is the eighth year in which Swarovski has made the star for the top of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Nine artisans spent about 1,200 hours installing, then programming, and finally testing the giant star, to make sure that everything will work perfectly when the tree will be lit on November 30. A smaller replica of the dazzling ornament will be displayed in Rockefeller Center, for visitors to see the level of detail and precision that it boasts.
