Near Mint Action Comics #1 Sells For $3.2 Million

Most of the superheroes that we love today came into existence thanks to comic books, including Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and Superman. Speaking of the Man of Steel, his story started off in 1938 within a book called Action Comics #1, and he was put into the comic by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Many years later, a near mint copy of this amazing comic book was auctioned off on eBay for the staggering price of $3,2 million, and it is now in the possession of the owners of ComicConnect, Vincent Zurzolo and Stephen Fishler.

The comic book was put under the hammer by Darren Adams, who turned down an initial offer of $3 million offer in order to give other true Superman fans an actual shot at owning the masterpiece. The book was analyzed by the Certified Guaranty Company and received a very high and rare 9.0 grade, which means that it is in near-perfect condition. No wonder it cost this much, since many other comic books from the same time period are nowhere near as well preserved.
