Ellice Residence is a renovated older villa in Bainbridge Island, Washington. It is located on the top of Yeomalt Bluff and it’s surrounded by trees and a lot of green. Coates Design made this house as compatible as possible with it surroundings, by introducing different sustainable features in it.
More than 80% of the current construction has been made with materials that remained from the deconstruction of the old villa. In addition to that, Ellice Residence features heat-recovery technologies, geothermal and photovoltaic systems and solar water systems for less energy consumption.
The house is also very alluring thanks to its modern but warm design, dominated by natural elements like wood and limestone. In order to stay more connected to nature, the owners opted for large windows that offer beautiful views of the exterior and allow for natural light to illuminate the house..
