Mind-Blowing Stadiums in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup

Because FIFA has chosen Qatar to be the host of the 2022 World Cup, the small emirate is already getting busy planning an impeccable welcome for its guests from around the world. Qatar will spend $4 billion to erect new stadiums (make sure you admire them in the video below), renovate three more and equip them all with advanced air conditioning systems, because we’re talking about temperatures of up to 120 degrees here.

For a complete deluxe experience, the emirate also promised to invest a whopping $50 billion on infrastructure. But there’s more! The engineering department of Qatar University has recently announced that they are planning on creating an artificial…cloud! Made of light carbonic materials, the shade will resemble an elongated UFO and will float above the stadium to protect players and audience alike. The designers of the “cloud” hope that their technology will one day become widely-used in open car parks, beaches and other open spaces. All this sounds almost better than Disneyland!
