Maximilian Büsser and Friends Unveils the MB&F HM5 Timepiece

Always on the run, always on the road? Then always wear a luxurious MB&F timepiece to help you keep track of time while rushing from one place to another. Maximilian Büsser and Friends (MB&F) has recently unveiled its fifth exquisite “horological machine”, known as the MB&F HM5.

Inspired by the 1970s supercars, such as the sleek Lamborghini Miura, the watch has a stunning design, with the hour and minute display looking very much like the mph/rpm counter of a sports car. The complex yet easy to understand mechanism is based on rolling disks that turn and bring the minute and hour numerals into marked spaces to show the time.

Another feature that is obviously inspired by old supercars is the set of slatted louvers on the case. These can be closed and opened, thus controlling how light enters the watch. The intricate mechanism that powers the timepiece can be seen through the transparent caseback, but we will have to wait until 2013 to actually have the chance to admire it from up close.
