In order to show off its support for the upcoming Only Watch 2015 auction, Patek Philippe has unveiled a stunning new version of its acclaimed Reference 5016 timepiece. Manufactured between 1993 and 2011, the Reference 5016 is one of the company’s most coveted and complex timepieces, and the new Reference 5016A-010 is definitely no exception. It boasts a tourbillion, a minute repeater as well as a perpetual calendar with a retrograde date.
As far as looks go, its dial was made using blue enamel, and it shows off a set of gold Breguet numerals. The case features a Calatrava design and measures 36.80mm, which is just the right size, if you ask us. The beating heart of the new Reference 5016 is a Swiss-made, manual-wind in-house caliber RTO 27 PSQR that comprises 28 jewels. Its one-minute tourbillion can be admired through the back of the case, and it is trapped in a polished steel cage. The moonphase complication impresses with great accuracy, namely one day in 122 years. Last but not least, the stripe is a navy blue alligator piece that is complemented by a steel fold-over clasp.
How much do you think this masterpiece will fetch at the Only Watch 2015 event?
