Montblanc has got a new goodie to unveil at the upcoming SIHH 2013 (January 21-25). It is a remarkable timepiece with improved rotating disc action, featuring two discs of different colors placed one on top of the other. The hour numerals on the first disc are hollow, which allows the color of the disc underneath to be seen. Thus the color of the numerals change from black to pale blue as the day turns into night.
Called the Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Rising Hours, it is powered by a patented in-house automatic caliber MB R220. The intricate mechanism is protected by a 43 mm case that’s available in three different versions: stainless steel, 18-carat red gold, and 950 platinum. Being a limited edition creation, the watch will be produced in only 28 examples.
