Did you know that Mark Hamill (the actor who played Luke Skywalker in Star Wars) wore regular Lewis jeans during the first movie? Well, one of those ‘Jedi’ pants was recently sold at auction for $36,100. It may seem a lot to some readers, but the truth is that presale estimates were much higher than that. The prop was expected to fetch between $70,000 and $100,000.
The sand-colored jeans measure only 29 inches around the waist and feature 6-inch slits up the side. Apparently they were customized by London costumier Bermans & Nathans, and the address is still visible on the tag. Hollywood memorabilia specialist Nate D Sanders announced that there were 13 bidders fighting for the unique piece of Star Wars memorabilia.
