Lavish Hotel Ritter Durbach Restored By JOI Design

As one of the oldest and most luxurious hotels in Germany and in Europe, the Hotel Ritter Durbach is located within the famed Black Forest of Germany and was founded in 1656. In 2007, the establishment was purchased by the Ritter family and received a complete makeover in 2012 by a prestigious firm called JOI-Design.

The experts behind this complex and spectacular renovation wanted to keep the essence of the hotel intact while allowing it to ensure modern and luxurious housing arrangements for its future guests. The project consisted of a series of modifications that were based on classic German design concepts with a contemporary twist. The remarkable Wilder Ritter restaurant, for example, boasts a distinct baroque style and flaunts ebony wood wall covers as well as glistening crystal chandeliers.

The hotel was also expanded and received a brand new annex that blends seamlessly with the already splendid decor elements and high quality finishes found throughout the establishment. This annex includes new meeting rooms and 40 new rooms and suites that feature vibrant color palettes, high quality furnishings and exceptional conveniences.

The existing spa was doubled in terms of size, but the Ritter lounge also received a makeover that involves an atrium drenched in natural light for a touch of warmth and coziness. If you would like to see the result of the renovation yourself, we invite you to have a look at the following images, but we also recommend visiting the hotel in person if you get the chance.
