Fitness and sleep trackers have become increasingly popular over the last few years, and it’s not hard to understand their benefits, as they allow us to keep better track of our lives. While the concept of these trackers is not necessarily new, the concept of a solar-powered gadget that measures our fitness and sleeping patterns is definitely newsworthy.
A world first, this innovative gadget was created by Misfit and Swarovski, and it was presented in Las Vegas. It comes in two versions, one featuring a clear focusing crystal, while the other boasts a violet-colored one. It is the violet-colored crystal that flaunts incredible solar harvesting capabilities, and it works by focusing a solar beam onto a solar cell. After about 15 minutes of exposure to the Sun, the battery lasts for a few days before it needs another charging session. In the second quarter of 2015, those interested in owning this new gadget will be able to purchase starting kits for prices ranging from $170 to $250. Extra accessories can also be bought at extra cost.
