Danish company Phase One has recently unveiled a high quality medium format camera system named Phase One XF, which costs no less than $50,000. The system includes a body/back combo that allows professional photographers to shoot exceptional 80-megapixel still images with a dynamic range of 14 stops.
The camera is equipped with high quality Schneider Kreuznach lens and a Phase One IQ3 digital back. Even though the system costs quite a bit, its price tag is justified by the fine optics and the exceptional dynamic range, both traits being highly appreciated by professionals. The sensor is 2.5 times larger when compared to those found in ordinary full frame Nikon or Canon cameras. Furthermore, it guarantees irreproachable quality even in low lighting conditions, and since it boasts a resolution of 80 megapixels, the resulting images are extremely large and can be cropped out into smaller high-resolution shots.
