Hublot is not an ordinary Swiss watchmaker, this much is certain. The company takes on a very active role in sports, and after it provided a series of customized referee boards for the latest FIFA World Cup, it now marks its entrance in the world of cricket by releasing a special watch.
As the official timekeeper for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, the brand has unveiled the Hublot Classic Fusion Chrono Aerofusion Cricket, which comes in two different versions, namely in titanium or gold. Its case measures 45mm and flaunts a sapphire display at the back as well as an AR-coated sapphire crystal at the front. The case back boasts the logo of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup and allows the user to catch a small glimpse of the inner mechanisms.
The watch gets its power from a Swiss automatic Hublot caliber HUB1155 that flaunts a 42-hour power reserve, operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph and comprises 60 jewels. The dial of this very special timepiece boasts a series of elements that remind of cricket. Fine examples include the triple appliqué at 12 o’clock as well as the hands on the mini-dials that resemble cricket bats.
The titanium variant of the Hublot Classic Fusion Chrono Aerofusion Cricket watch is limited to 250 units, while the gold version is limited to 100 pieces. For extra reliability, the model features a water resistance of 328 feet.
