Gorgeous 1955 Ferrari 750 Monza Spider at Pebble Beach

Passionate car collectors, be ready for the upcoming Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, because some truly outstanding classics have been announced to participate in the event. One of them is this superb example of a 1955 Ferrari 750 Monza Spider, named after its race debut, which sais a lot about the car.

The reasons for which this racer is special? Well, its claim to fame is definitely legitimate and here’s why: it had numerous race wins, it was part of a limited production run (only 35 units), it starred in a major motion picture (driven by Fred Astaire in “On The Beach”), it was part of several prestigious collections and it has been recently restored to an impeccable condition.

Ferrari first displayed this beauty at the Brussels Motor Show in 1955 and then renowned importer Luigi Chinetti brought it to America. He later sold it to Porsche importer John von Neumann who entered the potent Spider in numerous racing events and won many of them.

After the 2-year restoration program, the racer looks better than ever and is bound to attract a lot of diehard classic car fans to Pebble Beach in August. Powered by a 3.0-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine, the car is expected to fetch some $3 million at the RM Auctions sale.
