Glorious McLaren P1 GTR Design Concept

There’s no denying the fact that McLaren vehicles are some of the sportiest and fastest in the world, and many would argue that in our current days the company is actually limited by road laws and physics. A great way to bypass both obstacles is to create concepts or virtual cars in order to illustrate exactly what a true modern McLaren beast could do.

The P1 GTR Design Concept is an extraordinary vehicle to look at, but what it hides under its hood is even more breathtaking. Powered by a boosted 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8, this 4-wheeler packs no less than 986 horsepower, which means that it can perform a 0-62 sprint in less than 2.8 seconds. As if that’s not impressive enough, consider for a moment that the regular P1 is limited to a top speed of 217 mph. Without limitations, the possibilities are grand indeed.

If it ever reaches production, the McLaren P1 GTR Design Concept can become the fastest plug-in powered hybrid in the world. Fueled by electricity alone, this thing could gallop on for up to 10 miles, which is quite impressive considering its power output.
