Futuristic Bogányi Piano Required A Decade To Be Complete

Even though the piano is the perfect musical instrument for some, a Hungarian musician named Gergely Bogányi found it lacking in many ways. According to him, the traditional design of the piano hasn’t been improved in a significant way in the last century, which is why he took it upon himself to create a unique, modern and somewhat futuristic version of it.

The Bogányi Piano required then years to be complete and was created with the help of talented people such as technician József Nagy, industrial designer Péter Üveges and piano technician Attila Bolega. When compared to a standard piano, Gergely’s version flaunts no less than 17 important alterations, including a construction process based mostly on carbon fiber instead of wood. The choice for this light and sturdy material was obvious, as it does not have the same weaknesses when it comes to humidity and shifts in temperature. Another important change involved the addition of a pair of extra keys on the bass, while the piano’s cast-iron frame boasts carefully implemented separations that ensure a flawless sound output.
