First Spiderman Comic Book Sold for $1.1 Million

How much would you be willing to pay for the comic book that featured Spiderman for the first time ever? Well, that depends on how big a fan of comics you are. But if you can’t imagine a proper price for the item, let us give you the answer: $1.1 million! When it was first published in 1962, the Marvel Spiderman sold for only 12 cents, but it definitely wasn’t treated as a cheap book! It still is in almost perfect condition today.

The comic book auction house ComicConnect.com sold the piece for the mind-boggling price on Monday, but this is not the first time they auctioned off such precious items. They also sold a 1938 edition of Action Comics No. 1 for $1.5 million. The comic featured Superman’s debut and it originally sold for only 10 cents!

Comic books from the 1930s to 1950s are considered to be Golden Age comics, while those from the 1960s belong to the Silver Age. With this incredible sell of Spiderman, the value of Silver Age comic books has grown considerably.
