Fastest Electric Three Wheeler in the World: TORQ Roadster

Described by its makers as the “electric car re-invented”, this is nothing like the old EVs with which we have been accustomed in the past. No more skinny wheels and pitiful performance figures. The TORQ Roadster is a track-worthy emissions-free vehicle by Epic EV.

Powering the three-wheeler is a powerful motor with over 600 lb-ft of torque, which ensures an excellent speed – the best there is, actually, among all-electric vehicles with three wheels. The remarkably fast ride can complete the 0-60 mph sprint in only 4 seconds.

For the best possible results, its makers enlisted the help of other specialists in the field, such as Eleven Design, Palatov Motorsports (for the Formula 1-inspired suspensions), Magnum Offroad (for the extremely light chassis), and Flux Power (for the advanced battery system).

The vehicle has created a class of its own, where efficiency meets menacing looks, meets excellent drivability, meets remarkable power. Only 50 units will be produced this year, each one priced at $65,000. The official launch of the TORQ Roadster will take place on April 6, and all those who want the three wheeler for 2014 can make a $5,000 deposit and enter the waiting list.
