What happens when you put a fighter jet engine into a small yacht? Something awesome, of course! Called Aeroboat, this yacht is powered by a supercharged Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine and it will only be produced in ten examples by the yacht design specialists at Claydon Reeves. Each unit will be built according to the client’s specifications, but it will also flaunt a prohibitive price: £3 million (over $4.56 million).
Elegant and powerful, the boat is reportedly one of the fastest small yachts in the world, which makes it very alluring to rich playboy characters. The engine is not the only element that connects it to the world of airplanes. Even the exterior design was inspired by one of the most iconic aircrafts in the world, the British Supermarine Spitfire World War II fighter plane.
Thanks to its massive engine that can deliver between 1,600 and 2,500 hp, the Aeroboat is capable of reaching impressive speeds of more than 50 knots. Up to seven people can enjoy the thrills of a ride with this awesome yacht in perfect comfort. There is a double berth below deck and also a small bathroom.
Its makers describe the 14.64 meter (48 foot) boat as an entry level luxury toy for anyone who needs a fast and classy boat for short water explorations. Of course, the Aeroboat would also make an excellent tender for a plush superyacht.
