It’s true that surfers have no problem with carrying their surfboards around at the beach, but transporting those huge things using regular cars can definitely be challenging. The good news is that Opel has created a van concept specifically with surfers in mind, and as you probably suspect, this car is packed with plenty of features that would come in handy to a surfing enthusiast.
Dubbed Opel Vivaro Surf, it’s large enough to carry six people, and it features a special roof rack for surfboards. Wide spaces under the seats ensure much-needed storage space, while the back of the van can hold the wet and sandy surfing gear. Other amenities include integrated Wi-Fi and a parking-lot heater that does a fine job at keeping the cabin warm even with the engine turned off.
Power-wise, the Vivaro Surf is equipped with a turbo diesel engine that flaunts 142 horsepower and ensures a range of 38 miles per gallon. The van will probably hit European markets at first, but there’s still hope that US-based surfers will be able to get their hands on it in the future.
