Exquisite 1963 Shelby Cobra Soon Under the Hammer

Auctions America will soon sale a superb 1963 Shelby Cobra at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The event will take place between March 22-24, and it will definitely attract a lot of diehard automotive fans. The car is a sports legend and a symbol of American racing. Its early ownership history is not clear, but we do know that Ruben Garnica was its only owner between 1971 and 2011.

Its original CSX2023 engine was enhanced, becoming a 289-cid V8 one coupled to a four-speed manual gearbox. Many of its original features, however, have been kept unchanged, including the body, which hasn’t received any side vents or hood scoop over time. Also original is the entire instrumentation cluster, and the mechanical tach-drive plus everything else that comes with its Lucas generator.

This beautiful ride is the 23rd production unit in the series, and it rolls on knockoff center-spindle American Racing magnesium wheels, which are remarkable due to their rarity. Still fully functional and boasting excellent reliability, this car is an ideal partner for vintage racing addicts.
