Eco Prism, The World’s First Invisible Tower

Eco Prism, The World’s First Invisible Tower

This building is apparently the world’s first transparent tower. The project is still in its early phases of development, and the pictures below are only computer renderings, not the real thing. They may not show a tower that’s literally invisible, but its builders, GDS Architects, assures us all (including the Cheongna City Tower Competition Jury) that the structure will use advanced optical technologies to apparently disappear.

While all the other countries are competing by trying to build the next best, tallest or most expensive skyscraper, Korea is planning to show the world that less really is more. Called Eco Prism, the building is going to send a very powerful message: “The tower subtly demonstrates Korea’s rising position in the world by establishing its most powerful presence through diminishing its presence.”

Apparently the project is expected to be completed in 2014, as a 450-meter (1,476-foot) tall see-through structure. We really can’t wait to see what the real thing will look like!
