Dubai to Get 5 of the World’s 10 Tallest Residential Towers

Fascinating, rich and glamorous, Dubai spares no expense when it comes to improving its appeal to the rich and lavish. This explains why the emirate will spend a total $1.16 billion to erect five of the ten tallest residential towers in the world, most of them in the Dubai Marina Area.

Because of the economic downturn that affected the entire world, the projects are a little behind schedule, but local media reports say that every tower on the list is planned to be finished within the next couple of years.

The tallest of the five giants is called the Pentominium Tower and it will measure 516 meters (1,693 feet). It will flaunt 172 luxury penthouse apartments and 122 floors. The second tallest residential tower in Dubai will be the Princess Tower, measuring 414 meters (1,358 feet). Next in line are the Supertall 23 Marina at 395 meters (1,296 feet), the Elite Residence at 381 meters (1,250) and The Torch, currently the world’s tallest residential tower at 348 meters (1,141 feet).
