Discover the New 2013 Audi R8

The 2013 Audi R8 facelift has finally been revealed! First, there are some very appealing modifications in its appearance, such as a new front fascia front bumper, single-frame grill, and LED headlights (which are no longer optional, but standard).

Then, in terms of powerplant, the car will be available with upgraded V8 or V10 engines, and a new seven-speed S tronic transmission that is better than the old six-speed R tronic in more than one way. It has two multi-plate clutches serving two sub-transmissions for a significant reduction in gear changes time. While this new transmission comes as standard for the V10 version, it is only optional for the V8.

The new gearbox also helps the car reach the 62 mph threshold 0.3 seconds faster than the previous version. The new performance figures are as follows: the 4.2-liter FSI V8 engine can put out 424 hp and 317.15 lb-ft of torque, and it can complete the 0-62 mph sprint in just 4.3 seconds, before reaching the top speed of 187 mph; the 5.2-liter FSI V10 delivers 518 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque, it can reach 62 mph in 3.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 194 mph; the “Plus” version boasts 542 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque, it can reach 62 mph in 3.5 seconds, and has a top speed of 193 mph.
