DiCaprio Buys a $1.42 Million Salvador Dali at Christie’s

After losing two Picassos earlier this week, at Christie’s sale of Impressionist and Modern Art, Leonardo DiCaprio finally put his hands on a truly amazing piece of art: the Chevaliers on Parade by Salvador Dali. The artist created this painting in 1942 during his exile in the United States and it depicts a scene of war.

According to gallery worker Rachel Steckson, the famed artists did bid on Picassos, but his mind was clearly set on this Dali. After winning the bidding war, DiCaprio “turned around and was like ‘Yes!’”. He shelled out $1.42 million for the painting.
