De Tomaso’s Mangusta Resurrected by Maxime de Keiser (20)

Back in 1965, the first alluring Mangusta, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, was built as part of a limited edition collection of just 401 cars. Italian automaker De Tomaso produced the sports car between 1967 and 1971 as a rival to the very successful Shelby Cobra of the ‘60s. Unfortunately for De Tomaso, the car didn’t manage to dethrone Shelby’s remarkable sports car, but it did make history as one of the best looking and overall impressive cars of that era.

Several decades later, digital artist and illustrator Maxime de Keiser decided to revive the Mangusta name by creating a 21st century-style concept inspired by the original car. The project is still only in its initial phase of development, and what you see below are just digital renderings of the vehicle, but we already like what we see. With “the serenity of a feline at rest, and the elegance of the animal that doesn’t fear anything”, the new Mangusta looks ready to conquer the world.
