Inspired by the world of sailing, Hermès has created a new model of watches to extend the Clipper line. Called Clipper Sport, the timepiece is available in three colors: orange, red and blue. It comes with a 41mm bi-metal case (steel and titanium) that is water resistant to up to 10 atm.
Inside the round case there is a mechanical self-winding Swiss movement with 21 jewels, 42 hours of power reserve, and a frequency of 28,800 vph. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds and date. On the rhodium dial with opaline center the hours are indicated with large Arabic numerals. The date is visible through an opening between the 2 and 4 o’clock positions, and is indicated by a small triangle in the same color as the rubber band and the seconds hand.
The other two hands have dagger shapes and are superluiminova-coated (just like the dots near the hour numerals) for excellent visibility in poor lighting conditions. There is also a luminescent indicator at noon on the bezel. Inspired in design by 19th century ships’ portholes, the bezel rotates counterclockwise.
