Classic 1959 Corvette with a New Heart by Pogea Racing (36)

This 1959 Corvette represents the perfect fusion of old and new. It is a beautiful American classic stacked with advanced technologies of the 21st century. The car was modified by Pogea Racing, who wanted to create a car that would combine the muscle and performance of today with the remarkable elegance of yesterday.

The tuning process began with a new tube frame designed together with Foose Design, and it continued with custom coilover suspensions, new brakes, upgraded exhaust with Edelbrock manifolds, stainless steel end pipes, new camshafts, and a 2011 Corvette LS3 engine with LS7 injectors. The engine can send a whopping 485 horsepower and 585 Nm of torque to the rear wheels, via a 5-speed transmission with ceramic clutch and Dana 44 differential.

How does all this translate on the streets? Like this: a 0-62 mph time of just 3.9 seconds, and a maximum speed of 179 mph. New wheels were also needed to give this beast a good grip on the asphalt. The package was completed with LED light clusters and a luxurious interior that includes Cobra seats, new carpeting, a flat bottom Vallelunga steering wheel, an Alpine multi-media system, and fine leather trims. Retaining its original body shape and colors, the superb road monster is now for sale at €225,000 ($295,000).
