Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept: World’s Fastest E-Boat

Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept (20)

The world’s fastest electric speedboat has recently been unveiled by Mercedes-Benz and Cigarette Racing. It is called Cigarette AMG Electric Drive Concept, and it is clearly inspired by the remarkable SLS AMG Electric Drive by Mercedes. It made its debut at the 2013 Miami Boat Show, powered by two electric drive units at the rear.

The boat flaunts an output of 2,220 hp and 2,213 ft-lb of torque, with each power unit using 6 independent electric motors. This means that the maximum speed is of over 99 mph, which makes it the fastest electric speedboat out there.

To sustain this impressive speed, the concept boat needs four high-tech batteries that are capable of storing 240 kWh of energy. Recharging them takes approximately 7 hours, but customers can also choose to fit their boats with 4 on-board chargers that help reduce the recharging time to 3 hours or less.
