A 1979 Porsche 911 Turbo will soon go under the hammer in Vienna, Austria. This is not just any Porsche, but one that was bought by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates shortly after his company was established. The auction will take place on June 6, and the estimated price of the vehicle is $55,000 to $71,000.
Obviously, the Porsche will be sold with the registration papers that prove its connection to Bill Gates, with the 3509 43rd Ave NE, Seattle address on them. After Gates decided to sell the vehicle back in the 1990s, it reached the Australian shores. The current owner had the car repainted in its original metallic turquoise color, and the 3.3-liter, engine (300 hp) was recently overhauled.
Gates is quite famous for his unique driving style, and according to the Microsoft mogul himself, this particular Porsche led him into a lot of bad situations. He even spent a night in jail after getting arrested during one of his speeding adventures in the middle of the night. Don’t worry, though, the car is now in perfect condition and waiting to be safely driven to a new home.
